Premium licenses

What you get

• An exclusive room name (for example notesqr.com/YourName) that others cannot host without your license.
• A private license file you download after payment - only you should keep it.
• Mid-session file adds while the room stays open (free/random rooms must close and reopen to add more files; removals always work).
• The same private transfers as free NotesQR: peer-to-peer, no signup for guests.

How a license works

1. You subscribe (monthly or yearly) and choose a free room name.
2. We give you a license download. We never store that license file on our servers.
3. You add the license in this browser, desktop app, extension, or CLI (`notesqr license import`).
4. When you share, NotesQR uses your Premium name instead of a random room. Signaling requires your claim token to host that name.
5. If you set a room password, we only remember that the room should ask for a password next time - never the password itself.

Web, apps, CLI and agents

• Web: buy at /premium, add the license at /premium/license. With an active license, hosting skips straight to adding files. Premium can add files mid-session; free rooms cannot.
• Desktop installers and browser extensions import the same license file in the sender. Each app keeps its own local copy - they do not share the website’s browser storage. Use current builds so Premium hosting sends the claim token.
• CLI (notesqr-share): `notesqr license import <file.nql>` → ~/.config/notesqr/; `send` uses your Premium room by default (or `--room` / `--random-room`). Receivers join any valid room URL.
• MCP / agents: same engine as the CLI. Configure license_path / room / random_room on notesqr_p2p_send so the host process can claim a Premium room.

Keep your license safe

• Treat the license like a key: anyone with it can claim your room name while the subscription is active.
• If you lose it, you can re-download from a confirmed payment flow or support - reissuing invalidates older copies.
• We never publish licenses under public download URLs.
